Who Am I?
My name is Dan Bielski and I am originally from the greater Minneapolis area, but now I am local to Duluth, Minnesota which I can say is the perfect place for any and all photos.
As a young child, I picked up the family point and shoot camera and fell in love with automotive photography. I would travel to car shows of all sizes and take photos of as many types of cars as I could. In high school, I took my first film class and that is where my love for photography took off. I purchased my first “real” camera in 2015 and from then on my passion for this art-form has only bloomed.
Outside of my love for photography, I am a full time Physical Therapy Student. While I am not studying the human body, I seek out opportunities to learn about humans! I want to help you capture your vision to the best of my abilities!
Why Aerial Photography?
In my personal life, the year 2020 was a blessing as it allowed me to discover an entirely new passion in my life. Aerial photography and videography with a drone.
In the midst of COVID-19, I decided to purchase a basic drone to take with me on a road trip to capture some unique photos, thinking it would just be something small to capture new memories. I was wrong when I realized how much I would enjoy the process and the potential that it unlocks as a photographer. From there, I decided to become an FAA-certified drone pilot in order to pursue this passion even further.
From this point, I use my skills to capture unique aerial scenes from landscape photography, cityscape photography, real estate photography, videography, and more.
About My Business(es)
Why two titles you ask? Originally, I began as a hobbiest photographer who fell in love with photographing lanscapes, cityscapes, and still life. However, once I purchased a drone, everything took off (pun intended) from there. I realized it is a more niche, unexplored area of photography that I enjoyed more than I had anticipated. After I discovered this, I decided to create “BielSKY The Drone Guy” where I specialized in landscape and real estate photography.
After a year or so of beginning to building this platform, I was asked by a close friend to shoot their engagement photos, and ultimately their wedding. This was a space I fell in love with and I realized how much I enjoy working with and for people during such special times in their lives. This is where “Bielski Photography” came to be and I have been working to build this alongside with the overarching title serving as Bielski Photography.
